ASEAN Ambassadors Share Experience Using MRT Jakarta

Thepresidentpost.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on the 56th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Tuesday (08/08) invited several ASEAN ambassadors and partner countries to experience the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) from the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout Station to the ASEAN Station.

Several ambassadors admitted that it was their first time to use MRT service. The MRT rode through several stations such as Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout, Dukuh Atas BNI, Setiabudi Astra, Istora Mandiri, Senayan, and ASEAN Stations.

“I am very honored to do so because this is really my first time to use the MRT. I understand that Bundaran HI (HI Roundabout) is one of the newest stations I feel really glad to have this opportunity, especially on ASEAN Day,” Ambassador Dato’ Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo, the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN said.

In the meantime, Ambassador Hjayceelyn M. Quintana as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Philippines to ASEAN also echoed similar statement. She went to say that it was special because President Jokowi also joined them to use MRT.

“I wish all citizens of ASEAN a happy ASEAN Day. Thank you so much for this opportunity,” Hjayceelyn M. Quintana said. (AIT)
