Minister of Trade at the Launch of EPIC Sale

Thepresidentpost.id - Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso together with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto and Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi launched Every Purchase is Cheap Sale (EPIC Sale) which was held at Alfamart Drive Thru Alam Sutera, Tangerang, Banten, Sunday (22 Dec). The discount event is a program from the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) which was held on 22-31 December 2024.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga said that several business associations have held several discount programs, such as National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas), Belanja di Indonesia Aja (BINA) Diskon 2024, to EPIC Sale which was launched today. From the three programs, the target transaction value reaches IDR 80 trillion.

On that occasion, the Minister of Trade together with the Coordinating Minister and the Head of Bapanas also checked the prices of a number of basic necessities (bapok), such as granulated sugar, rice, cooking oil, and eggs, while shopping at the same location.

The Minister of Trade appreciated modern retailers that have created a conducive atmosphere ahead of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. In this case, the conducive atmosphere was built through the EPIC Sale program by offering discounts on basic necessities at Aprindo member outlets throughout Indonesia.

The Minister of Trade said that the EPIC Sale program can be an invitation to all people to be more proud and care about local products. People who shop for local products indirectly contribute to driving the country's economy.

Also accompanying the Minister of Trade were the Director General of Domestic Trade, Moga Simatupang; Director of Trade Business Development, Septo Soepriyatno; and Head of Public Relations Bureau, Muhammad Rivai Abbas.
