Indonesia Enlivens Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival in Ho Chi Minh City with Angklung Tunes
Thepresidentpost.id - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - Indonesia once again takes the international spotlight by participating in the Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (7-14/2). With the theme "Beloved Spring- Tet Reunion," the festival captivates the attention of tens of thousands of Vietnamese locals and tourists from various countries.
The Indonesian Consul General in HCMC, Agustaviano Sofjan, stated, "Indonesia's participation in the Ho Chi Minh City Flower Festival is an important step to introduce Indonesian nature and its richness. We hope this pavilion can serve as a means to expand cultural, tourism, and economic cooperation between Indonesia and Vietnam."
The Indonesian pavilion at the festival becomes a major attraction, featuring the theme of angklung, a traditional musical instrument recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage. Angklung symbolises international cooperation and mutual respect. The pavilion is also adorned with various flowers symbolising Indonesia's cultural richness.
Visitors not only get to enjoy the beautiful visual aspects of the pavilion but also have the opportunity to interact directly with the angklung musical instrument. During the festival opening, VIP guests, including Indonesian representatives, were invited to play the angklung together, creating unforgettable moments of togetherness.
Indonesia's presence in this festival aims not only to promote natural beauty but also to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries. Moreover, it provides a golden opportunity to introduce various aspects of Indonesian culture to the Vietnamese people.
In the previous year, the Indonesian Consulate General in HCMC successfully brought the Saung Udjo art team to perform at the Saigon Opera House, adding diversity to the cultural experiences introduced to the Vietnamese community. Initiatives like these continue to strengthen people-to-people diplomacy, opening doors for cultural, tourism, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
