Thepresidentpost.id - As a Government to People  program  initiated by the Government by utilizing  end-to-end digital technology, the Pre-Employment Card Program has been proven to be able to increase the competence, skills, productivity and competitiveness of participants by encouraging aspects of education, employment and sparking entrepreneurship.

Since its launch until 2022, the Pre-Employment Card Program has provided benefits to more than 16.4 million participants in all regions in Indonesia. The participants were dominated by women who reached 51%, while the other 3% were persons with disabilities. Furthermore, the Pre-Employment Card Program has also been able to encourage employment and small business ownership for a third of the recipients.

"Pre-employment is an institutional experiment that has succeeded in inspiring other programs and ministries, because this program is not only effective in providing good results, but also at an efficient cost," said the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto when delivering a virtual keynote speech at a supporting event for the Session 61st United Nations Commission for Social Development (UN CSocD-61 PBB) in the form of a public webinar entitled Bringing 16.4 Million People Closer to Full and Productive Employment and Decent Work Using Digital Technology which was held in New York, USA, Friday (10 /02).

The use of digital technology in the implementation of the Pre-Employment Card Program is considered capable of providing equal quality and convenience in conducting training for all participants, including women and persons with disabilities. In addition, the government is also trying to reduce inequality and provide equal access to skilling, reskilling and upskilling by using the Pre-Employment Card Program.

Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning David Atchoarena when opening the event revealed that the Pre-Employment Card Program has gained international recognition for its success in utilizing digital technology and being a game changer or bringing major changes in efforts to improve learning for adults outside of formal education.

Concluding his remarks, the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga also invited all stakeholders to commit and collaborate in encouraging the provision of optimal and equal access to education for all people.

"The Indonesian government in collaboration with the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning and UN Women organized this event to open discussions, share experiences and lessons. I hope that a useful and interesting discussion can be held," concluded the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
