Working Meeting of the Government and the Legislative Body of the DPR RI, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Conveys Explanation Regarding the Job Creation Perppu
Thepresidentpost.id - As one of the efforts taken to boost the national economy through strengthening household consumption, domestic investment, and creating jobs, the Government has formed a responsive policy mix, one of which is through the stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation.
In a Working Meeting between the Legislative Body of the DPR RI and the Government to submit the President's statement on the Bill regarding the Stipulation of Perppu Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation to Become a Law, Tuesday (14/02). the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that the stipulation of the Job Creation Perppu This is the implementation of the Constitutional Court (MK) Decision Number 91/PUU-XVIII/2020 regarding the formal review of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.
"President Joko Widodo issued the Perppu on Job Creation on December 30, 2022 which is the implementation of the Constitutional Court (MK) Decision Number 91/PUU-XVIII/2020, and is in line with the constitution according to Article 22 paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution," said the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
A number of follow-ups have been taken regarding the Constitutional Court's decision starting from the ratification of Law Number 13 of 2022 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 12 of 2011 which regulates the omnibus method in drafting laws, increasing meaningful participation by forming the Task Force for the Acceleration of Dissemination of the Job Creation Law to implement socialization, to complete research, tracing, and re-checking technical errors in writing the Job Creation Law.
In carrying out this follow-up, the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga stated that the Government was facing a number of global challenges, national dynamics, to legal uncertainty over the implementation of the Job Creation Law which had a major impact on the national economy and job creation. For this reason, the Government is pushing anticipatory policies by strengthening domestic economic fundamentals through structural reforms contained in the Job Creation Perppu.
Apart from that, the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga also mentioned that a number of positive impacts have been felt from the implementation of structural reforms with the Job Creation Law such as increasing Foreign Investment (PMA), reducing trade and investment barriers, increasing investment realization, and increasing employment. issuance of the Perppu.
"Thus the issuance of the Job Creation Perppu is very urgent and important in preventing an economic crisis and to provide legal certainty for investment and the business world in the context of creating jobs and improving the welfare of workers and the community," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
The material in the Perppu on Job Creation is generally similar to the Job Creation Law, but there are a number of adjustments which are a response to input from the public and stakeholders, namely regarding employment, guaranteeing halal products, management of water resources, and technical improvements to writing.
"In the event that the DPR RI can approve Perppu Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation and agree on the Bill on the Determination of the Perppu on Job Creation to Become a Law, we are optimistic that the Government will still be able to maintain and increase economic growth where in 2022 we can reach 5.31%. which is the highest achievement during President Jokowi's time," concluded the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
