Thepresidentpost.id - Following the bilateral meeting between President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud Thursday (10/19), Indonesia received an additional quota of 20,000 pilgrims for the 2024 hajj season.

“In less than 12 hours, a commitment to grant Indonesia an additional Hajj quota of at least 20,000 for next year was made,” the President said in his statement, Friday (10/20).

According to the President, hajj waiting time for Indonesian pilgrims has reached 47 years so that additional hajj quota is direly needed.

“Alhamdulillah, we received a very positive response regarding this matter,” he said.

On that occasion, the President expressed gratitude for the successful and productive completion of working visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud and the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit.

“Alhamdulillah, all activities have been concluded. The bilateral meeting with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the ASEAN-GCC Summit proceeded smoothly and yielded productive outcomes,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RIF/RAS/MMB)
