President Jokowi Hands Over Food Assistance in Lampung Province
Thepresidentpost.id - Kicking off his working visit to Lampung province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (10/26) headed to the Bulog (National Logistics Agency) warehouse in Campang Raya, Bandar Lampung city to monitor food supplies and hand over food assistance to beneficiaries.
On that occasion, the President briefly talked with one of the beneficiaries who inquired about the situation of some of the neighboring families who have not been registered as food assistance beneficiaries as well as the Family Hope Program (PKH) social assistance beneficiaries.
“Can non-PKH beneficiaries receive [the food assistance]?” asked one of the beneficiaries.
President Jokowi answered that every family that meets the requirements to get food assistance can register themselves to the nearest government apparatus.
The President added that the Government has provided sufficient budget for the food assistance.
“Actually, the budget is still available, but if you do not register, the office will be blamed. So, the procedure must still be adhered to. You must register. Your name must be listed in the existing list,” the President said.
The President also pointed out that the Government is currently designing a scheme to provide food assistance for rice reserves so that it can be extended until 2024.
“If [the budget] is approved, we will also provide 10 kg of rice in January, February, March, next year,” the President said, adding that the Government will also prepare additional PKH social assistance to beneficiaries. The social assistance will be distributed in the last two months of 2023.
“In November and December, there will be a transfer (totaling) Rp400,000,” the President said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/EP)
