Indonesia Defeats Brunei 6-0 at 2026 World Cup Qualifier

Indonesian national football team managed to defeat Brunei Darussalam 6-0 in the 2026 World Cup Qualifier at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Thursday (10/12) evening. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who also watched the match live, lauded the result.
“It is really entertaining because of the score. I think this is a good start since we will have another match in Brunei,” President Jokowi said in his statements before the media after the match.
During the match, the Indonesian national team’s first goal was scored by Dimas Drajad in the 7th minute. Indonesia’s second goal scored in the 11th minute after Saddil Ramdani’s corner kick was well finished by Rizky Ridho.
In the second half, Indonesia stepped up their attack and scored four more goals. Ramadhan Sananta, who just entered into game the second half, scored two goals, one from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute and the other in the 67th minute.
Dimas Drajad successfully completed a hat-trick after scoring two additional goals in the 72nd and 90+2nd minutes. President Jokowi said that all national team players played nicely.
“Everyone did a great job with the teamwork, but the entry of Ramadhan Sananta into the second half of the game somewhat changed the pattern of the game,” he revealed.
For the record, the Indonesian national football team will go to Brunei Darussalam for the first round of Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday, October 17th 2023. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RKW/RAS)
