Thepresidentpost.id - Jakarta, March 22nd 2023 – PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk (ALDO), continue to actively earn profits while at the same time participating in preserving the environment through the waste paper processing business.
The Company, which annually processes around 80 million kg of waste paper, processed 80,683,104 kg of waste paper in 2022. In addition to generating economic benefits, paper recycling provides various benefits such as reducing environmental waste, saving energy, and helping the world from the threat of global warming.
“We are aware that a business can only be sustainable if supported by a sustainable environmental. Therefore, ALDO continues to focus on developing the business of recycling used brown paper, and continues to innovate to develop new products made from recycled paper," said ALDO's President Director, H. Sutanto.
With more than 30 years experience in waste paper processing business, ALDO only produces high quality goods to meet the needs of its customers. All ALDO’s products are made from recycled used brown paper which does not contain any harmful chemicals. ALDO's products include paper pipes for winding yarn, hexcell honeycomb as a substitute for wood interior and furniture, edge protectors for corner protectors for fragile goods, textile boards for rolling fabrics, as well as packaging boxes made of paper and paper bags.
The company is optimistic that the need for products made from recycled brown paper will continue to grow, in line with the growing awareness of the importance of environment sustainability which increases interest in products made from recycled materials. In addition, expectations for the rapid growth of e-commerce transactions are also another supporting factor for optimism on the future of the Company's business.
Of the 2022’s total value of e-commerce transactions which reached IDR 489 trillion, Bank Indonesia estimates that it will increase to IDR 572 trillion in 2023, and increase again to IDR 689 trillion in 2024.* This brings hope that there will be an increase in the need for paper packaging for goods sold through e-commerce transactions. In addition, the Company's strong relationships with corporate customers are giving a foundation for ALDO's solid performance.
Anticipating the market growth of these recycled paper products, the Company has been operating new machines for processing recycled brown paper since last February. These new machines are more efficient in fuel use, faster and more accurate for coloring because they have faster production capabilities, equipped with auto quality scanner, auto color dispensing and auto splashing capabilities.
With the operation of these new machines, ALDO's production capacity of recycled brown paper increased to 220,000 tons per year, from the previous production capacity of around 80,000 tons per year, or the Company's ability to process used brown paper increased 2.75 times.
