Record Extraordinary Growth Throughout 2022, the Domestic Market Continues to Support the Strong National Economy
Thepresidentpost.id - Even though it was hit by the storm of the Covid-19 pandemic and also affected by developments in the current global conditions which are still experiencing ups and downs, the national economy is still able to show resilience and seems to be recovering more quickly.
Throughout 2022 the Indonesian economy recorded an impressive growth of 5.31% (ctc). This figure was able to exceed the target set by the Government, which was 5.2% (ctc) and again reached the 5% level as before the pandemic.
"Yes, first of all, this achievement is extraordinary in the midst of global pressure with low growth. This means that globally it is about 4%. So Indonesia's achievements are above the global. But it doesn't just come. This is from the policy taken by Mr. President Joko Widodo in his three-year policy of handling Covid. It was a balance between gas and brakes, then the formation of KPC-PEN. Then the budget for social protection and national economic recovery. So this is a sequence ," said the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in SCTV's The Newsroom program, Tuesday (7/02).
The Coordinating Minister for Airlangga also revealed that the government decided not to adopt a lockdown policy during the Covid-19 pandemic, and this was what was able to encourage the economy to continue moving where exports and the trade balance were still able to grow positively during the pandemic. Indonesia's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) is also above 50 and is at an expansive level.
"So our industry does not lose its supply chain . So fill the supply chain . Precisely in 2022 and 2021 this will be helped by rising commodity prices. When the world starts to return to normal, we need a supply chain . The one who is most ready to fill in is from Indonesia," said the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
Furthermore, in facing global challenges such as the Russia-Ukraine war, climate change , high commodity prices, high global inflation, and interest rates that are still rising, the Government has a bearing, namely a strong domestic market .
"So how do we solve this problem, but we are already in quotation marks have square off for it. Because our domestic market is strong. So we return to the domestic market . Our domestic market is approximately 51% -52% of the economy. Our export market is around 20%. So resilience against global upheavals. We have cushions . Well, that's what we have to take care of. We protect our purchasing power, protect the domestic market . Then, of course, we will maintain production," concluded the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
