The Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Receives the Visit of the Secretary General D-8
Thepresidentpost.id - Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Jerry Sambuaga received a visit from the Secretary General of D-8, Isiaka Abdul Qadir Imam, which took place at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (21 Nov).
The D-8 Secretary General's visit was to discuss increasing trade among D8 member countries.Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry welcomed the visit of Secretary General D-8 to Indonesia. This visit is a momentum to increase cooperation and encourage the implementation of D-8 PTA.
The Deputy Minister of Trade also expressed the hope that D-8 would maintain its initial commitment that 31 October 2022 would be the start date for implementing the D-8 PTA as agreed at the 3rd Customs Official Meeting (3rd COM).
Indonesia's total trade with D-8 member countries reached USD 45.6 billion. Indonesia's exports amounted to USD 27.7 billion, imports USD 17.9 billion, and Indonesia had a surplus of USD 9.9 billion.
D- is an economic cooperation organization of 8 developing countries whose majority population is Muslim and wishes to strengthen cooperation in development. Its eight members include Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey
