President Jokowi Joins Editors in Chief in Medan Ahead of National Press Day Commemoration
Thepresidentpost.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Wednesday night (08/02) joined Editors in Chief of national and North Sumatra local media at Si Bolang Durian, Medan, North Sumatra.
Arriving at 20:35 WIB (Indonesian Western Time), the Editors in Chief and the people greeted the President and the First Lady.
On that occasion, the President did not only enjoy durians but also chatted and took pictures with the Editors in Chief.
Editor in Chief of SWA Kemal Gani said that during the gatherings, they had a discussion with the President on many issues, including media issue in Indonesia.
He added: “We had a discussion with the President on how the media are able to sustainably grow, on how to provide writing with good quality, responsibility, and upholding journalistic code of ethics.
Meanwhile, Editor in Chief of Harian Sumut24 and Sumut24.co Rianto Aghly said: “President Jokowi cares about the press. He is extraordinary. During the National Press Day, he always openly answers our questions. We are grateful to chat with him informally. He is phenomenal.”
