Thepresidentpost.id - Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has completed 21 of the 35 National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the transportation sector since 2020.
"Twenty-one projects have been completed, including the now-operational Yogyakarta International Airport and airports in Labuan Bajo, Lombok, Baubau, and Fakfak," the ministry's secretary, Novie Riyanto, said on Wednesday.
During the year-end press conference in Jakarta, Riyanto remarked that his ministry had also finished six railway projects.
The railway projects comprise the Tebing Tinggi-Kuala Tanjung railway in North Sumatra, Makassar-Parepare Phase 1 in South Sulawesi, the Palembang LRT in South Sumatra, the Greater Jakarta LRT, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train, and the Yogyakarta Airport Railway.
Ten port projects have been completed: the Malay Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Port in East Kalimantan, the Labuan Bajo Multipurpose Terminal, the Bitung International Hub Port, Kupang Port, Kuala Tanjung International Hub Port, Kijing Terminal Port, Sanur Port, Patiman and Likpuang ports, and Makassar Newport.
"In total, there are 21 (finished projects) comprising five airports, six railways, and 10 ports," he said.
Riyanto stated that nine projects are targeted to be completed in the 2023-2024 period, including the Dhoho Airport in Kediri, East Java, which is planned and scheduled to become operational soon.
The Raja Haji Abdullah Airport in Tanjung Balai Karimun, Riau Islands, will also become operational in 2024.
After 2024, the Ministry of Transportation still has five projects to be finished, including the construction of the North-South and East-West lines of the Jakarta MRT.
"The MRT project will be massive after 2024," he stated.
According to Economic Ministerial Regulation No. 7 of 2021, there are 35 PSNs in the transportation sector, comprising seven in the air sector, 13 in the railway sector, and 15 in the port sector. (ANTARA)
