Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesian medical device products have recorded a potential transaction of US$9.15 million or Rp137 billion during Arab Health 2023 exhibition.

The exhibition, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), was the largest medical device products exhibition in the Middle East and Africa regions.

Indonesian Ambassador to UAE Husin Bagis said that Indonesia’s participation in the exhibition, which took place for four days from January 30 to February 2, 2023 was a very good opportunity for Indonesian companies.

“Since the first day of Arab Health 2023 exhibition, Indonesian companies have managed to secure several trade contracts. This event is expected to trigger other Indonesian companies to obtain potential trade transactions with buyers from the Middle East and Africa regions,” Husin said as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Trade, Tuesday (02/07).

Head of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) for Dubai Muhammad Khomaini said that as many as ten Indonesian companies participated in Arab Health 2023. The ten companies were PT Enesers Mitra Berkah, PT Fyrom International, PT Graha Teknomedika, PT Inspiry Indonesia Consultants, PT Mega Andalan Kalasan, PT Oneject Indonesia, PT Sterin Laboratories, PT Sugih Instrumento Abadi, PT Trimitra Garmedindo, and PT Triton Manufactures.

“Those ten Indonesian companies that took part in Arab Health 2023 managed to secure a potential transaction of Rp125 billion. The products that are in high demand are hospital beds, auto-disable syringes, and respiratory pumps. This shows that Indonesian medical device products are able to compete in the global arena,” said Khomaini.

Of the potential transactions that were obtained, the largest contribution was obtained from six trade contracts worth US$850,000 signed between Indonesian company PT Mega Andalan Kalasan and a number of buyers, namely Babil Medical Equipment LLC from UAE; Samiya International LLC from Oman; Ibn Al Haytham Center from Qatar; Behzad Medical Est, WLL from Bahrain; Tabasheer Medical Co. Ltd. from Sudan; and Anudha Ltd. from Tanzania.

The signing of the six trade contracts was carried out by the leaders of the companies and witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to UAE, Indonesian Consul General in Dubai K. Candra Negara, Secretary of the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices of Ministry of Health Dita Novianti Sugandi Argadireja, and Head of ITPC Dubai Muhammad Khomeini.

Khomaini said that during the exhibition, 592 buyers had visited the Indonesian Pavilion.

“The buyers’ interest is certainly a very positive thing after several years of Indonesia’s absence at the exhibition. The last time Indonesia joined the Arab Health exhibition was in 2017,” said Khomaini.
