Created as a Digital and Human Capital Transformation Area, Solo Technopark was Inaugurated by the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga
Thepresidentpost.id - Surakarta, 6 February 2023,- Appearing to be one of the keys to accelerating recovery and increasing the resilience of the national economy, Indonesia's digital economy in 2022 will be able to enjoy a portion of around 40% of the total value of ASEAN digital economy transactions.
This makes Indonesia a major player in the ASEAN digital economy and at the same time makes the digital economy a new strength for the national economy.
The rapid increase in the number of start-ups in the country also reflects the accelerated development of the digital economy. Having more than 2,400 start-ups , Indonesia is ranked 6th in the country with the most number of start-ups in the world. In order to accelerate this, the Government has provided various supports for the development of fundamental aspects including increasing the capacity of Human Resources.
“Focusing on science and technology is very important, because this is an added value. It is hoped that digital transformation, AI technology, Metaverse , AR/VR, and Robotics will also have a showcasing at this place," said the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto while delivering the keynote speech at the Inauguration of the Solo Technopark Science and Technology Area in Surakarta, Monday (6/02).
The Surakarta City Government has developed the Solo Technopark Science and Technology Area with an area of around 5 hectares as an area oriented towards digital transformation and human capital. The development and revitalization of Solo Technopark also has a role as a hub for innovation and talent development in the City of Surakarta.
Becoming the new icon of Surakarta City, the inauguration of Solo Technopark is also expected to encourage the creation of a more tech-savvy society and accelerate the pace of Indonesia's digital economy development. Collaboration between the government and the private sector in order to support the development of the digital economy is also realized in the collaboration carried out by Solo Technopark with several collaborative partners such as Shopee, Bank Mandiri, SKK Migas, and PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa.
After inaugurating the Solo Technopark , the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga who was accompanied by the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and his entourage had the opportunity to review the various facilities available in the area.
“I certainly hope this facility can create new startups . And of course we hope that this technopark can strengthen cross-sector and multi- stakeholder collaboration , and this is an innovative solution for Solo Technopark to meet technological needs for all," concluded the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
Also present at the inauguration were the Regional Secretariat of Central Java Province, Deputy for Coordination of Commerce and Industry of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Head of the BLUD for the Solo Technopark Science and Technology Area, and representatives of the Solo Technopark collaboration partners .
