Thepresidentpost.id - Cikarang - JABABEKA City Cikarang, a modern independent city with an area of 5,600 hectares and a population of around 1.2 million people, will soon have a teaching hospital.

For information, Jababeka City is the first independent city project of PT Jababeka Tbk (Jababeka) which has developed from a green land to a community. Starting from industrial areas, beautiful residences, and commercial.

Jababeka City is increasingly equipping itself

Aged 35 years, Jababeka City has become an independent city with various complete facilities. Where now this independent city is increasingly enriching itself with the presence of health and education centers. There are 25 hospitals with more than 4,000 beds, serving more than 2,000 national and international companies in the Jababeka region, employing about one million workers.

In addition, there are a number of leading educational institutions that provide education from kindergarten to high school levels, such as the Presidential School, St. Leo, Al-Azhar, and BPK Penabur. In Jababeka City, there are also two higher education institutions, namely President University – a university with international standards – and the Polytechnic of the Industrial Mechanical Engineering Academy (ATMI).

On March 1, 2023, Jababeka inaugurated Jababeka Medical City in Jababeka City, which was opened by Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This area is designed as a center of the health industry with WHO-standard infrastructure to attract foreign medical tourists. Jababeka Medical City occupies an area of 72 hectares in the Jababeka City master plan.

Strengthening the Jababeka Medical City ecosystem

President University plays an important role in the development of Jababeka Medical City as a strategic partner. After launching the Faculty of Medicine on September 1, 2023, President University continues to strengthen the Jababeka Medical City ecosystem by establishing the President University Teaching Hospital or Teaching Hospital.

Yes, this follows the groundbreaking of the President University Teaching Hospital, at the President Executive Club Building, Cikarang, on Thursday (28/11/2024).

President University Teaching Hospital is designed as a health care center and also as a place of education and research – as well as part of the development of the Academic Health System (AHS).

“The groundbreaking that we are doing today is a symbol of a big step towards the synergy of education, health, and research in Indonesia. With strong support from the government, we believe that President University Teaching Hospital will not only become a center for health services, but also a center for innovation and scientific development that has a wide impact,” said the founder of President University and Jababeka SD Darmono, in his speech.

Darmono – as he is familiarly called – added that the President University Teaching Hospital project will be implemented in three stages. The first phase will utilize the President Executive Club (PEC) Building which has been renovated into a General Hospital. The hospital is planned to be able to start operating within six months after the permit is issued. The President University Teaching Hospital will have seven (7) floors with 200 beds.

“This hospital will serve the community in general,” said Darmono.

The second phase is further development to improve the status of the hospital to become a Class B Hospital. This hospital will meet the standards as a Smart Teaching Hospital with adequate capacity for student practice and medical research by adjusting to the excellence of the vision and mission of the Faculty of Medicine, President University. The flagship service of Smart Teaching Hospital is holistic services in the fields of oncology, cardiovascular, medicine and occupational health.

“In the third phase, we will build a Class A Hospital that meets international standards on land in the Jababeka Area. This stage also includes the construction of Research Centers in the fields of Biomedicine and technology, artificial intelligence, and digital health, which focus on ergonomics and efforts to increase community productivity,” added Darmono.

For better health services and regional competitiveness

He also believes that the presence of the President University Teaching Hospital will be able to make a significant contribution in producing many competent medical personnel, in line with the increasing access and quality of health services today.

The step to present a teaching hospital, said Darmono, strengthens Jababeka’s commitment to continue to improve health infrastructure. This is to make it easier for tenants and the surrounding community to get comprehensive health services at competitive prices. On the other hand, the presence of this facility can also strengthen the attractiveness of Jababeka City as a leading investment area.

Darmono also expressed his gratitude to various parties who gave trust and support, namely the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, President University, the West Java Provincial Government, and the Bekasi Regency Regional Government.
