Cabinet Secretary Maintains Informative Predicate in Public Information Openness
Thepresidentpost.id - The Cabinet Secretariat (Setkab) again won an award as a state institution and non-ministerial government institution (LN-LPNK) in the Informative category.
The award was received by Cabinet Secretary Expert Staff for Communications Kardwiyana Ukar at the Public Information Openness Award event, at the Vice President's Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (19/12/2033).
The Public Information Openness Award is given based on the results of monitoring and evaluation of public information openness carried out by the Central Information Commission.
The Cabinet Secretariat received a score of 96.72, or an increase from 2022 with a score of 94.90 and 2021 with a score of 90.87. With this achievement, the Regency Secretariat succeeded in maintaining its Informative title for three consecutive years.
In his speech, Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin emphasized the importance of openness of public information in realizing good governance as well as determining the success of the bureaucratic reform program.
"I also believe that information transparency is a way to maintain democracy whose ultimate goal is to improve people's welfare," he added.
The Vice President also appreciated the increasing number of public bodies that have received the Informative title from time to time. According to the Vice President, this is a form of compliance by public bodies in implementing public information disclosure.
“The number of public bodies holding an Informative rating has increased significantly. "In 2018, only 15 public bodies were classified as informative, but in 2023 the number will jump to 139," he said.
Previously, Chairman of the Central Information Commission, Donny Yoesgiantoro, in his report said that monitoring and evaluating public information openness was an instrument for realizing the grand vision of information openness in Indonesia.
"The big vision for developing information openness is to create an information society that is advanced, intelligent and has a Pancasila personality, as well as realizing good, clean, transparent and accountable state administration," said Donny.
Donny said that this year's monitoring and evaluation of public information disclosure was carried out for 369 public bodies from all categories. Of this number, 139 public bodies received the title of Informative, 43 Towards Informative, 13 Quite Informative, 27 Not Informative, and 147 Not Informative.
"Public bodies that received the Informative qualification numbered 139 or 37.7 percent of 369. With this number, it means that the national medium-term development plan target has been exceeded, namely 90 informative public bodies," stressed Donny. (PUSDATIN/UN)
