President Jokowi asks for the realization of the 2024 APBN from the beginning of the year
Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the ranks of ministries/institutions to realize the 2024 state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) from the beginning of the year.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara after attending the plenary cabinet session (SKP), at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (11/12/2023).
"Mr President gave directions regarding the importance of looking at price stabilization and also ensuring that we are ready to enter 2024 in implementing the APBN, so that starting from the beginning of the year the APBN can actually be implemented. "Ministries/institutions are also directed to start implementing the APBN as early as possible, as early as possible, starting in January," said the Deputy Minister of Finance.
Regarding the realization of the 2023 APBN, the Deputy Minister of Finance said that the President requested that the realization of the budget reach 95 percent.
"The President gave directions so that each ministry/institution can ensure to all its ranks that the APBN in each ministry can be realized as much as possible above 95 percent. "We see that this is still very possible, if we can make optimal use of the next two to three weeks," he said.
Regarding the distribution of transfers to regions, the Deputy Minister of Finance said that his party would speed up the implementation by the end of this year.
"We estimate that there will be a transfer and hopefully this will complement the regional government's readiness to maximize budget absorption in 2023 so that it will have the maximum effect on our economic growth," he said.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Finance also explained the global economic conditions and developed countries, such as the United States, which has begun to moderate its economic indicators, both in terms of employment, economic growth and inflation.
On the other hand, China's economic growth is still weak even though it is better than estimates several months ago. Meanwhile, European economic growth is still quite heavy and negative.
"Hopefully this can be completed soon and with that we will close 2023. Our estimate at the Ministry of Finance is that economic growth will still be around 5.0 percent," he said.
Even though Indonesia's inflation is quite under control at the level of 2.9 percent, said the Deputy Minister of Finance, the government is paying special attention to food price inflation.
"Especially towards the end of December, where Christmas and New Year will also usually increase demand for several food products. "In particular, we are paying attention to several product prices. We have also reported on the readiness of our stocks related to rice, corn and other commodities," he said. (TGH/UN)
