Minister of Trade and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Discussed the Progress of the IEU-CEPA Negotiations
Thepresidentpost.id - Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan received a visit from the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pahala Mansury at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (29 Nov).
The meeting discussed the progress of the IEU-CEPA negotiations and the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN), as well as strategic plans related to trade negotiations.
The Minister of Trade said that Indonesia and the European Union remain committed to completing the IEU-CEPA negotiations in 2024 according to the direction of President Joko Widodo and President Ursula von der Leyen.
The Minister of Trade appreciated the support of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the process of completing the IEU-CEPA negotiations. Currently, Indonesia has 38 trade agreements and is targeting 40 trade agreements in 2024 to support the 2020–2024 RPJMN targets. Trade negotiations support the achievement of increasing exports in the Ministry of Trade's strategic plan through the Directorate General of PPI by increasing market access and securing national interests.
On this occasion, the Minister of Trade was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade, Suhanto; Director of International Trade Negotiations, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono; and Special Staff to the Minister of Trade for International Trade Agreements, Bara Krishna Hasibuan.
