Thepresidentpost.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (11/22) at the State Palace, Jakarta, inaugurated General Agus Subiyanto as Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI).

The appointment of the new Commander is based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 102/TNI of 2023 on the Dismissal and the Appointment of the Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces, issued in Jakarta on November 22, 2023.

On that occasion, President Jokowi attached the rank insignia to the uniform of General Agus and handed over the TNI Commander’s baton to the General. Afterward, General Agus took the oath of office.

“By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and will truthfully uphold all laws and regulations for the sake of my service to the nation and the state,” General Agus said.

For the record, the House of Representatives on Tuesday (11/21) approved the nomination of Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) General Agus Subiyanto as the new TNI Commander. Agus succeeded Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, who is entering retirement.
