President Jokowi Makes Short Visits to Singapore and Malaysia
Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Jokowi departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force (AU) Base, Jakarta, Wednesday (07/06/2023) morning, to make a short visit to Singapore and Malaysia.
"Today I, along with the First Lady and a limited delegation, will make a short working visit to Singapore and to Malaysia, June 7 and 8 2023," said President Jokowi in his press statement before departure.
In Singapore, the Head of State will be the speaker at the Ecosperity Week 2023 forum. The meeting held by the Temasek Foundation will be attended by many groups, from investors, academics, and from the government.
"I use this meeting to promote investments primarily in the fields of energy transition, green infrastructure, and also the development of the Archipelago's Capital," he said.
In the afternoon, the President will immediately depart for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to pay a return visit and at the same time fulfill the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim.
"We will use my visit to Malaysia to finalize several important negotiations that have been going on for years and have not been completed, namely the issue of borders and issues regarding the protection of Indonesian PMIs, and of course other important matters," said the President.
The President is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Thursday (07/06/2023) evening.
Accompanying President Joko Widodo when giving a press statement, were Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Pramono Anung, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
