Thepresidentpost.id - In the midst of the global crisis, Indonesia is one of the few countries that has succeeded in maintaining economic, social and political stability as well as controlling inflation, growing investment and increasing employment.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) believes that Indonesia's success in facing global challenges is supported by Pancasila as the basic foundation.

This was conveyed by the President in his address at the Pancasila Birthday Commemoration ceremony, Thursday (01/06/2023), in the National Monument Area (Monas), Jakarta.

" Thanks to unity, thanks to hard work and mutual cooperation, this nation has succeeded in facing challenges and is increasingly trusted by the world. All of these foundations are the ideology of Pancasila which was inherited by the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno  An ideology that we must continue to uphold to strengthen the progress of the nation," he said.

The President emphasized that currently the government continues to strive to deliver fair and equitable development that requires continuity and sustainability.

" Personnel in the government can change, but the struggle must not stop. Justice, equity and prosperity are what we want to achieve through structural reforms, improving the quality of human resources [human resources], downstreaming industry and building the Archipelago's Capital City. We want the country's natural wealth to be of maximum benefit to the welfare of the people. We want people outside Java to also experience significant benefits from the existing development," he said.

As a big country, said the President, Indonesia must be able to be on an equal footing with other nations, cooperate with any country, and bridge the differences that exist in the world.

“This is Indonesia, Indonesia is an Indonesia that cannot be dictated by anyone, which cannot be dictated by any country. However, ready, always ready to contribute to the world," said the President.

The President believes that Pancasila ideology has made Indonesia's leadership accepted and recognized by the world. This has been proven by Indonesia's success in holding international meetings such as the G20 Summit and the ASEAN Summit.

"The G20 presidency which has been successfully implemented, this year's ASEAN Chair, is clear evidence that Pancasila is not only important for Indonesia, but also very relevant for the world," he said.

In his address, the Head of State also reminded that tolerance, unity and mutual cooperation are the keys to building a strong nation. Therefore, the President invited the Indonesian people to reject extremism, the politicization of identity and the politicization of religion.

"Let's welcome the 2024 Election democracy party with maturity, with joy, by upholding the values of Pancasila, fighting for an advanced, just, prosperous and dignified Indonesia on the world stage," he said. (TGH/UN)
