HOKI Continues Transformation towards FMCG through its Subsidiary, PT Hoki Distribusi Niaga (HDN)
Thepresidentpost.id - Jakarta, April 3rd, 2023 - PT Buyung Poetra Sembada Tbk (HOKI), a quality rice producer with the brands "Topi Koki" and "HOKI," continues its expansion to broaden its business scope as part of the company's growth strategy in facing the challenges of an uncertain economic condition.
One of the ways is by developing various food products to enter the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) business under the auspices of its subsidiary, PT Hoki Distribusi Niaga (HDN), which started operating commercially in 2021 and developed the Online to Offline Warung Koki distribution channel that can be downloaded on Android based mobile applications.
Furthermore, HDN launched its flagship products at the end of the second quarter of 2022, starting from its rice creation product, "DailyMeal Eats," with practical Indonesian culinary heritage flavors, as well as its healthy rice product, "DailyMeal Rice," which supports a healthy lifestyle, namely cassava and corn-based rice products.
These healthy rice products have low carbohydrates and low glycemic index, making them safe for people with diabetes and can be used for diet programs.
Thus, compared to the end of 2021 when HDN only recorded sales of IDR 312.8 million, by the end of 2022, HDN had recorded sales of IDR 30.8 billion, or an increase of more than 50 times.
During 2022, where rice sales still faced challenges, HOKI also restructured its business group, including establishing a new subsidiary engaged in investment named PT Hoki Investasi Sejati (HIS).
These restructuring and diversification efforts are increasingly important as part of the company's risk management, where the sales results in 2022 can be maintained despite a slight decrease to around IDR 925.7 billion from IDR 933.6 billion in the previous year.
This is a significant achievement amidst the various cost burdens due to the inflation rate increase related to the price increase of raw materials and transportation last year, but HOKI was still able to record a net profit of IDR 90.57 million for the current year.
"On the one hand, we are grateful that we can still record a net profit, although the value is small. On the other hand, we must remain optimistic in moving forward, so that we can navigate through this challenging year of 2023 with various business strategies that we have prepared since 2020 with caution. Therefore, HOKI hopes that this year, if permitted by God, we will be able to achieve sales and profit growth again like in previous years," said HOKI Director, Budiman Susilo.
