Thepresidentpost.id - Perth, Australia - Indonesia participated in Paydirt’s Battery Mineral Conference (BMC) in Pan Pacific Perth, 21-22 March 2023.
As the only government exhibitor in the Conference, the Ministry of Investment/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board and Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) proudly showcased Indonesia’s strong position in integrated battery and electric vehicle industry, along with key policies to support the development of electric vehicle ecosystem.
Ambassador Siswo Pramono who was invited to speak at the Indonesia Investment Seminar (22/3) highlighted Indonesia’s “demographic bonus”, growing middle-class, and Indonesia’s target to produce 15 millions electric motorcycles and 2 millions electric cars in 2035 as a golden opportunity for Australia to take advantage of.
Particularly for Western Australia as the world’s largest producer of spodumene lithium-bearing concentrate and a globally significant nickel and cobalt supplier.
Chandra, Senior Vice President Project Management of IBC added in his presentation that by 2035, annual EV battery demand in Indonesia will grow up to 60 GWh. “Indonesia will not stop at producing EV at home. We’re also looking to be part of global battery supply chain.”
