Local Textile Products Made by BELL Boost Income in 2022
Thepresidentpost.id - Jakarta, March 24th 2023 - PT Trisula Textile Industries Tbk ("BELL"), a textile manufacturer for clothing materials including uniforms, and quality fashion, supports the government's campaign to promote the purchase of domestic products.
Therefore, supported by BELL's local textile products that are already well-known under the Bellini and Caterina brands, they also contribute to the increase in BELL's income in 2022. Amidst the challenge of rising inflation that has eroded people's purchasing power in 2022, the company managed to record sales of IDR 461.85 billion, or an 8% increase from 2021 sales.
"We are grateful that despite the challenging situation in 2022, BELL managed to achieve positive sales growth. We hope that the government's campaign to buy and use domestic products will help stimulate the domestic industry, particularly in driving sales growth of BELL's products," said BELL's CEO, Karsongno Wongso Djaja.
In 2022, the company recorded a net profit attributable to the parent entity's owners of IDR 2.66 billion, an increase of nearly 9% from IDR 2.45 billion in the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, the cost of goods sold increased by 4% to IDR 321.51 billion compared to the previous year.
The company's sales in the domestic market grew 9% to IDR 443.89 billion, contributing 96% of BELL's total sales. Meanwhile, exports recorded IDR 17.96 billion or 4% of total sales.
In terms of sales performance breakdown by segment in Q4-2022, several segments experienced extraordinary growth in Q4-2022 compared to Q3-2022, including the Uniform segment (B2B sales) increased by 154% QoQ and the Retail segment (clothing sales under the JOBB and Jack Nicklaus brands) increased by 34% QoQ.
To boost sales growth, the company continues to actively add retail stores, along with efforts to strengthen sales through digital platforms to increase sales turnover and expand its network. In this regard, BELL has strengthened its digital channel with sales on the e-commerce platform Yukshopping.com with Trisula Group, which has started since 2021, as well as marketing its products on various marketplaces.
