The Indonesian Christian Community holds Christmas Commemoration in Brunei
Thepresidentpost.id - Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Dr. Achmad Ubaedillah hopes that the commemoration of Christmas Day 2023 can further strengthen the sense of brotherhood and togetherness for all Indonesian nations living in Brunei Darussalam. This was conveyed by the Ambassador when opening the Christmas Celebration with Indonesian Christians and New Year 2024 at the Indonesian Embassy Hall in Bandar Seri Begawan on 3 December 2023.
"The spirit of Christmas must be able to be integrated into life and contribute positively to strengthening national values," said Ubaedillah in front of more than 300 Indonesian citizens from various cities in Brunei. This Christmas commemoration event was organized by the Cahaya Kasih Serantau Community (CKS) in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan. CKS is a community of Indonesian Christians and Catholics living in Brunei Darussalam.
The commemoration with the theme "Glory to Allah and Peace on Earth" was enlivened with various song and dance performances from several Indonesian communities in Brunei, as well as cutting tumpeng and drawing lucky draws.
Apart from the Christian community, the event was also attended by officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, Indonesian community leaders, and representatives of Indonesian communities, as well as guests from other countries. The attendees also had the opportunity to treat their longing for their homeland by tasting Indonesian cuisine.
